Stone Devil’s Foot in Māteri

It is an ancient place of worship. The Stone Devil’s Foot is called also differently – The Stone Devil’s Foot in Kristiņi or Dampeļi.

 

It is on the very top of a gently sloping hill Liepkalns, in a prominent place – in a meadow 500m north east from Māteri, 100m south from Graveyard Māteri. The territory is private.

 

The stone’s dimensions are 4.6 meters (length), 4.2m (width), 2.0m (height), circuit is 16.6, 19 cubic meters big. There are a lot natural dents and bulges on its surface. It is an interesting attraction as a secular stone with its cultural value.
