Dzilnas Rock

The rock is a high cliff with multicoloured outcrop layers. The rock can be seen from the Amata Geological Trail on the right bank of the river. Dzilnas Rock consists of four bright layers: reddish clay, blocks of broken sandstone, a high slope with a spring that turns into an icefall in winters, and white sandstone.

About 40 m high and 300 m long rock sally in form of horseshoe. Processes of suffosion and side-erosion are still remaking it – rock is moving back >1 m in a year. The bottom is washed out by stream of the Amata and springs. Middle layers are steep and uncovered.
