On May 28, 2017, a new environmental object was opened in Kandava - “Candowe Anno 1230”. The letters of the name are shaped like metal baskets filled with broken boulders.
In 1230, the name Kandava (Candowe - Latin) was first mentioned in writings. A photocopy of the original document in Latin can be viewed at the Kandava Regional Museum.
