Sēme Lutheran Church

The Lutheran Church of Sēmewas built in year 1892 in place of the old wooden church. The congregation reinstated its operations in 1990, when it slowly started the church renovation works. Along with the new altar, the altarpiece painted in 1932 by P. Štelmahers “Christ blesses the fields” was recovered from the Tukums Church.

Seme lutheran church was built in 1892 on site of an old wooden church. In the Soviet Time the interior furnishings were destroyed, some of them were handed to the Tukums Lutheran church. A sawmill and a furniture warehouse was established in the church. The new interior of Seme Lutheran church was made by Riga Trade school. Altar, pulpit and pews are made from lime- and oak-wood.
