The first wooden church in Saliena was built in 1680. In 1733, a new wooden building was built in place of the old wooden church, which was demolished in 1829 due to its poor condition. The new church built of stone was completed in 1833. Currently, the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Salienia is in a dilapidated state.
