The ruins of Mežotne church are located in Rundāle parish of Rundāle district, next to Mežotne castle mound.
The current stone church was built around 1711, but its tower - in 1817. The church was rebuilt in 1820-1821.
During the First World War in 1915, Mežotne Church was shot and burned. In 1930 the church was restored.
During World War II in 1944, the tower was shot again and the roof of the church burned down. After 1960, a fertilizer depot was established in the church.
Today the church is being restored.
