Ādaži (Baltezers) Evangelic Lutheran Church

In Baltezers of the Adazi Region, the oldest and the most significant architectural monument of Adazi, the Adazi (Baltezers) Church is situated. The church is located in the picturesque country between Lielais and Mazais Baltezers. It was built by the master Bernhard Joahimus of Mazungen from 1772 to 1775. During the Soviet Period, the church was vandalized; its interior was destroyed, the altar and organ was crushed, its steeple knocked down. At the beginning, the building of the church was used as a Recreation Centre (dance hall, cinema), and later as a warehouse and a metal design work-shop. Only in the middle of 90s, the telephone switch-board was removed from the altar room.

In 1994, the church was transferred to Adazi Evangelic Church. The entire facade was reconstructed, the interior walls were rebuilt, old and damaged wooden beams were replaced and new windows were set.
