Historic records of Dikļi Palace are traced in the deep past. Although Dikļi manor is mentioned in the annals of time as early as the 15th century, its current neo-baroque building was built in 1896 under the supervision of its owner at the time, Baron Paul von Wolff. A 2003 renovation gave the manor its present-day look and elegance, while respecting all the antique attributes – from the basement to the attic. Part of the palace ensemble is a barn that is older than the palace itself and was built with a majestic perspective at the end of the 18th century. It is still possible to discover the ancient charm of the palace and explore its secrets, along with a myriad of historical treasures that have been preserved thanks to the care of its owner. It comes as no surprise then that Dikļi Palace has been selected as an architectural landmark of national significance.
The present-day Dikļi Palace was built in 1896, when baron P. Volf owned the manor. Modern neo-baroque building was constructed with mansard roof for the central part, side parts and decorating facades in an elegant and plastic manner.
The barn is the second most significant part of Dikļi manor ensemble. It is older than the palace and built in the end of the XVIII century following classicism forms and with majestic portico, which was not typical to barns in Vidzeme at that time. The park covering area is in a beautiful harmony with the manor buildings. To the south there is a pond said to have had oak-wood flooring. There is Wood park behind the pond, made in the steep banks of Mazbriede river (called also Pale, in the name of the Pahle family, and Dikļi river before).
Dikļi manor house is one of few manor houses in Vidzeme that has retained original interior features despite the experienced exploitation manners that were substantially different from the initially planned. Dikļi palace has original hall with fireplace made by firm „Zelm & Boehm”, several tile stoves, central stairs, parquet, wall panels a.o. elements. Dikļi Palace was approved as architectural monument of national significance in 1998.

Dikļi Manor (Latvian: Dikļu muižas pils,German: Dickeln ) is a manor house in the historical region of Vidzeme, in northern Latvia. Dikļi Manor was built for Baron Paul von Wolf in 1896 and includes a 20 ha park that is home to around twenty exotic trees, such as the balsam fir and the Coast Douglas-fir. Manor house now operates as hotel.
History
The earliest information about Dikļi manor dates back to 1456, when it was bought by Georg von der Pahlen, vassal of Silvester Stodewescher, Archbishop of Riga. It is known that prior to that it belonged to Rezede and Weipted, it may have been originally the side manor of Carlsberg Manor. The manor belonged to the Pahlen family until 1722, the end of Great Northern War. Later Löwenwolde, then Rosen, became its owners. In 1786 manor was bought by Tiesenhausen noble family, who owned it until 1846. From 1846 to 1860 owners were Hanenfeldt family. The last owners of the manor until Latvian Agrarian Reform Law of 1920 were Irena and Eva Wolf. In 1919, the Valmiera District Administration, which was granted a manor, established a children's shelter here. In 1937 Dikļi manor became a sanatorium, in 1974 - the Republican Rehabilitation Hospital for Traumatology and Orthopedics.
