Pedestrian Bridge in Iecava Park

The bridge over the Iecava river in the Iecava manor park.

One of the most important values of the city is the Iecava manor park. The park is an architectural monument of national importance, it was built at the same time with the construction of the manor complex between 1795 and 1800, in the style of a naturalistic English landscape park. Interesting is fact that during the manor times, the entrance to the park was denied to the local inhabitants. Only after Latvia gained an independence, the park became publicly available. The total area of the park is 16.6 ha, it is characterized by a large variety of leaf-type trees, several species of exotic trees can also be seen. The age of these trees are more than 130 years - many of them are marked with the status of Great trees.

In 1936, a monument created by the sculptor P. Banders to those who fell in the Latvian War of Independence was established in the park, and there is also an open-air stage in the park, where various events take place.
