Zaņa River

Zaņa River is a small river, known in literature as one of the few places in Latvia where can find Jurassic period rocks. The exact age of rocks is Middle Jurassic (Callovian stage, Zaņa suite).

Zaņa is a tributary of the right bank of the Venta in Saldus municipality. There are several water reservoirs on the river (Pampāļi mill pond and Zaņa mill pond). The total length of the Zaņa River is about 53 kilometers.
