Ventspils, Pils Street 38

The construction on the intersection of Pils and Kuģnieku streets characterises the rapid growth of Ventspils at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when by joining the narrow lands lots construction of historicism and later Art Nouveau masonry buildings started, which replaced the former one-story wooden construction. The masonry tenement house with eclectic Art Nouveau features and neo-baroque corner tower at 40 Pils Street was built in 1905, however the building on the opposite corner at 38 Pils Street is an Art Nouveau three-storey masonry tenement house, built around 1912. It is now the Ventspils Music School.
