Staļģene village, Latvia

Staļģene is a village in Jaunsvirlauka parish, Jelgava region, the center of the parish. Located on the left bank of the Lielupe by the road P94.

The settlement is located near the center of the former Staļģene manor. In Stalgen there is a parish administration, a secondary school, a folk house, a library, a post office, a pharmacy, and a local history museum.

During the war of 1812, the headquarters of the French Marshal Jacques McDonald was located in the Stalgen manor.
