Sprīdītis (Tom Thumb)

Sprīdītis (Tom Thumb) is a hero of Latvian folk tales, "no bigger, no less than three rings". A brave guy who is going to look for wealth in the world, engages in all kinds of adventures, struggles with giants, and eventually returns to his father's home. Also popular is Anna Brigadere's play of the same name, and its main image, as well as the film by director G. Piesis in 1985. On behalf of Sprīdītis is named Anna Brigadere Memorial Museum "Sprīdīši", located in Tervete.
