Rundāle watermill
Pilsrundāle, Rundāle district

Water mill was built in the end of 18th century, in the centre of Pilsrundāle and belonged to Rundāle manor. The watermill has experienced two devastating fires during its operation time. After several efforts, the operation of Rundāle watermill was restored and in the 20th century, precisely in the 1930s, when Voldemārs Bergmanis became the owner. The building has had extensive economic and household activities. Along with the process of the grain, there was also carpentry, wool processing and fruit processing. Even today, already in the fourth generation, Rundāle watermill belongs to the Bergman family.
The museum gives an insight into seeing and understanding the operation of the watermill of the last century and its essence. The watermill is arranged on five floors and allows you to follow the path of the grain through wooden shafts to a grounded bag of flour. Currently, Rundāle watermill can be seen only from the outside. Inquire about visiting the museum by e-mail or on the FB page!
