Ruins of St. George Church
The pieces of the old altar of St. George church existed from the beginning of the 14th to the middle of the 20th century. It is the nearest 14th century architectural heritage to Riga with signs of the Romantic and Gothic style (remains of the gothic window frames, niches, and others). For several centuries, the church was the religious and social life centre of Salaspils. It has also lived through various acts of warfare throughout different time periods. The church may be used as a reference point when searching for the inundated cultural and historical heritage of Salaspils on the map.
