Railway line Liepaja-Vaiņode

The railway line Liepāja-Vaiņode was a railway line in Latvia that connected Liepāja with the State border (9 km from Vaiņode). The line was 67 km long and had one track. Passenger trains on the line stopped in 1998. In 2012 the section Liepāja-Priekule, Priekule-Vaiņode was dismantled and is not used.

History
The railway line was built in 1871 as part of the Liepaja-Kaišadore line, which was built by the Liepāja Railway Company. In 1877 the line became the property of the Liepāja-Romnu railway company, but from 1891 it was owned by the state. In 1998 a decision was taken to close the line. In 2012, the Liepāja-Priekule section was dismantled.
