Pedestrian bridge in Rūjiena - Laipas

The inhabitants of Rūjiena have divided the town into four parts and have named them Kalnkrogs, Centrs, Pārupe, and Augšpilsēta. To get from Pārupe to other parts of the city, one could most easily swim across the Rūja, but it is more convenient to use the bridges. Valdemāra bridge, made of concrete, connects Pārupe with the Centrs, but Laipas bridge offers the shortest route to school, church and Kalnkrogs.

It is also a favoured meeting spot for teenagers.
