Pedestrian Bridge Mitava (Jelgava)
Mitava Bridge is the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in Latvia. It connects city center with Pasta (Post) Island. It was opened in 15.11.2012.
The Pedestrian Bridge Mitava in Jelgava is really a nice place to visit. It connects the city center with the Pasta Island on Lielupe river The Island itself has been lately developed as a place for recreation for the citizens and guests of Jelgava - it hosts the famous Ice and Sand Sculptures' Festivals. The modern lines of the Bridge along with the well developed embankment and the Island give a nice touch to the city's image. The place is worth visiting when in Jelgava especially in summer. Next to the Bridge on the Island there is a nice cafeteria with excellent cakes, but at the other end an interesting sculpture of the Poor Student as there is the University of Agriculture in Jelgava.
