Memorial stone of Jekabpils 330 year anniversary

The Jekabpils 330-year anniversary commemorative stone is one of cultural-historical objects in the town of Jekabpils. The memorial stone was brought from the city border and installed in 2000, on the occasion of the 3 rd city festival “330 th birthday on Jacob Street”, Jekabpils for commemorating the 330-year anniversary as a lasting historical mark. A memorial stone is located in the former Jekabpils historic center near the Holy Spirit Orthodox monastery, a place in which on Feb. 12, 1670, Duke Jacob declared the city to be established. 330 in the event of the city anniversary, the city's historic flag was also restored and blessed in this place and the first play of the city's hymn “The Song for Jekabpils,” the composer of which is G. Zilver.

Wednesday market square
On this spot on 12th February 1670, Duke Jacob declared the foundation of the city. Busy trading took place here on Wednesdays, it was the oldest market of the town and the former historic centre. There is also a memorial stone of Jekabpils 330 year anniversary.
