Liepāja anthem sculpture - Telephonist

Liepāja is known as the city of music, even having its own anthem “Pilsētā, kurā piedzimst vējš” (The city where the wind is born). The locally well-known characters of the anthem – a boatman, a crow, amber Latvians, telephonist and the human forest – have been recreated as bronze sculptures all along Kūrmājas Prospekts.

A verse of the anthem can be found, then read or even sung next to each character of the anthem. Do not forget to rub the beak of the crow when passing it – until we meet again in Liepāja!
