Grobina St. Brigita catholic church

One of the most modern buildings in Grobiņa. Church construction started in 2000 and it was built in two years. Church was designed by the architects Aija and Andris Kokins. Church building made in modern, symbolic architectural forms – as a Noah's Ark that saves every man. It also symbolizes the Swedes who arrived by boats, and brought Christianity to the region. The church signifies a ship that saves every person and standing in billowy seas is a symbol of secular life, bringing souls to the shores of eternity.

In 2002 the church received the award "Best public building in Latvia.

The church is open every Sunday, but upon a prior arrangement, you can visit the church on other days as well.
