Alley pond

Alley (Aleja) Pond is an artificial body of water in the northern part of Vaiņode Parish of Vaiņode municipality, southwest of Lielbāta. Connected to Sanatorium pond.

Alley Pond is privately owned. The islets in the pond are created artificially from sapropel and other pond sediments. At the Alley Pond is Volzbahs Hill, a great and well-appointed resting place. At the other end of the Sanatorium pond to which the Alley Pond is connected is the Lielbata Spring, the largest clear spring in Latvia and one of the few in northern Europe that delivers biologically active and properly structured water from the ground.
